Maakhaven is a studio complex at Laakhaven in The Hague. In the beginning of the 20th. Century this historic industrial building was the home of the Batavian Oil Company. Today it is the workplace for creative entrepreneurs, artists, designers, filmmakers and craftsmen. The diversity of the tenants contributes to an extensive network with interesting collaborations.
Maakhaven was founded in 2001, and has since been transformed into a self-managed permanent studio complex. It houses more than 45 workshops and studios and also offers space for temporary projects and events.
